SMS Terms & Consent

Last updated: August 2026

What this program is

RentChime sends rent-related text messages to tenants on behalf of the individual landlords who manage their homes: rent-due reminders, late-rent notices, and payment receipts. Messages are informational only — RentChime never processes payments and never sends marketing messages to tenants.

How tenants opt in (consent)

Consent is collected by text, with double opt-in. A landlord enters a tenant's number; RentChime sends one invitation message; messages begin only if the tenant replies YES. No reply means nothing further is sent. The full flow is described at how opt-in works. Consent is not a condition of any lease, purchase, or service.

Message frequency

Frequency varies with the reminder schedule the landlord sets — typically a few messages per month per tenancy.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan. RentChime never charges tenants anything.

Opt out & help

Reply STOP at any time to cancel and stop all messages. After a STOP we send one confirmation and then nothing further unless the tenant opts back in by texting START. Reply HELP for help, or email growth@rentchime.com.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice. US phone numbers only for now.

Privacy & contact

See the Privacy Policy for how information is handled. We do not share or sell phone numbers, and mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Questions: growth@rentchime.com.
